Quick setup: go live

The fastest path from a new account to an AI agent answering real calls. Most businesses are live in about 15 minutes — no code required.

What you'll need

A JagCall account and a few minutes. You'll add prepaid credit along the way — calls and SMS draw from your balance, so a small top-up is enough to start testing.

Go live in 6 steps

  1. 1

    Create your account

Sign up and complete the short onboarding: confirm your account, choose your industry, and tell us your role. This tailors the suggested agent templates to your business.

  2. 2

    Create your AI agent

Open Agents and choose how to build:

    • Quick Setup (recommended) walks you through a short wizard: Type → Describe → Number → Voice → Features → Review. In Describe, write in plain English what the agent should do — JagCall generates the prompt, greeting, and settings for you.
    • Advanced Mode opens the full agent editor if you want to configure everything by hand.

Pick a Voice Agent to answer phone calls, or an SMS Agent to handle text messages.

  3. 3

    Connect a phone number

Go to Phone Numbers and either Buy a number (local or toll-free) or Port a number you already own. You can also buy a number directly inside the agent wizard's Number step.

    Porting takes time

Porting an existing number can take several business days. If you want to go live today, buy a new number now and port later — or set up call forwarding from your current number.
  4. 4

Assign the agent and set call handling

Open your number and use the Calls tab to assign your agent as the inbound agent. Then set a Call Schedule: each day is split into time slots you mark as AI (the agent answers) or Human/forward (calls forward to your team). Anything outside your slots is forwarded automatically.

For an SMS agent, use the SMS tab to assign it and Activate SMS on the number.

  5. 5

    Publish your agent

Every save creates a draft version. When you're happy, click Publish to make that version live.

Inbound voice agents need a number

An inbound voice agent can't be published until it has a phone number assigned — you'll be prompted to buy or assign one first.
  6. 6

    Test it, then go live

Verify everything before real callers arrive:

    • Use the Simulate tab to run AI-generated test callers, or the built-in Test Chat / Test Audio panel in the editor.
    • Call your number yourself to hear the greeting and confirm call handling.
    • Watch calls arrive in real time under Live Calls, and review recordings and transcripts in Call History.

Keep an eye on your balance

JagCall is prepaid — calls and SMS draw from your credit balance, and service pauses if it reaches zero. Set a low-balance warning and top up under Billing & credits.
